AMY & JEFF | NAPPANEE, INDIANA WEDDING | DJ, CEREMONY

Boston couple Amy and Jeff were moving to Indianapolis and looking for a rural, rustic wedding location in Northern Indiana’s Amish Country.   After making the perfect choice of venue with the Farmhouse Weddings in Nappanee, all they needed was an entertainer and emcee to live up to their discerning east-coast expectations.   Bolstered by a recommendation from the Farmhouse, they chose to go with the Platinum Package and Ceremony package as well to facilitate their vows in the adjacent “pavilion” structure.  Even with the hustle and bustle of the couple’s move across half the country, and of course planning a wedding from a distance, we made the process simple with modern teleconferencing tools.  We completed 100% of the planning process and music selection via Skype to both Boston and Indy and when the wedding day arrived, it was like meeting with old friends.

The wedding took place on an absolutely perfect summer afternoon and the site was decorated straight out of a wedding magazine with incredible attention to detail.  Their Elkhart County DJ set up separate sound systems in both the ceremony and reception locations to create a smooth transition between the day’s events and to ensure guests were able to hear the vows and special music selections in the outdoor setting.   Sticky Boots also provided contemporary prelude music that fit the country theme as guests arrived and as they left the ceremony area for cocktails in the barn, where a live pianist played through cocktail hour.

By the way, The Farmhouse Weddings site is probably the most charming and unique venue in Elkhart County and comes complete with a large turn-of-the-century barn, the tin-roofed pavilion for ceremonies, a beautiful farmhouse for the bridal party to prepare and acres of property between farm fields for spectacular photos.   Amy and Jeff were looking for country charm to greet their many out of town guests, and they certainly found it at this location!

After heartfelt toasting and thanks to the families, Sticky Boots set the mood during dinner with classic Motown, R&B, and Soul music while guests dined on a traditional meal prepared by Pumpernickle Catering.   A traditional Amish-made cake capped off the fantastic dinner with a sweet treat and blended seamlessly into a breathtaking first dance amongst the soft lighting and antique wood timbers of the barn.    Later that night, our Nappanee IN DJ kept the party going and the dancefloor packed with a fun mix of classic rock and new soul from artists like Bruno Mars, Robin Thicke, and Justin Timberlake.

It was a picture perfect day at a photo ready location with some of the best guests anyone could ask for.  Thanks to Amy and Jeff for asking us to be a part of it!
