Saint Mary’s bride Avery chose the timeless elegance of the Palais Royale for her late September South Bend wedding reception to her high school sweetheart, Sam. As a young couple looking for a modern, high energy feel to their reception they chose the DJ Sticky Boots Platinum wedding package to fill the large event space in the Palais Royale Grand Ballroom with music and light.
As the guests arrived for cocktail hour, they where greeted by our exclusive “TextLive” interactive video messaging displayed on the in-house projection screen directly over the stage. Our graphic designer created a stunning image based on one of the couple’s engagement photos and guests had a blast during the cocktail hour texting their well wishes, congratulations and memories directly to the screen. Later in the evening they were treated to random fun facts about the couple on the screen in between more guest generated stories and hilarious comments. Avery and Sam loved being able to keep a written transcript of all the texts from that evening after their trendsetting northern Indiana reception.
Upon their arrival to the ballroom, Sticky Boots presented the couples Grand Entrance from the balcony overlooking the room for a dramatic flair. “Good Time” by Carly Rae Jepsen and Owl City was the soundtrack for the entrance and continued to play as the entire Bridal Party descended from the balcony to take their places for dinner. Avery located her large head table directly on the stage in a two-tiered layout with she and Sam and their attendants high on the stage and the rest of the bridal party at a second table directly below them. The visual effect was impressive with spotlighting from the Palais as the TextLive screen created a second focal point above them.
Sticky Boots set the scene for the entire evening musically with traditional non-vocal jazz during cocktails, Rat Pack favorites from Sinatra, Martin, and Buble for dinner and a very trendy, up-to-date selection for dancing of Top 40 and Hip-Hop hits and club bangers. Avery also has a passion for reggaeton music, so the night wasn’t complete with the entire room dancing to “Danza Cuduro” and “Sexy Muchacha”. This perfect downtown South Bend, Indiana wedding reception was capped off by a paper lantern release in from on the Morris Performing Arts Center overlooking the St. Joe River to end the evening, facilitated by the amazing Janie and John from Imagination Photography.
