Nothing says summer in Indiana like sunshine, warm weather, and berry picking! When Goshen couple Chance and Aimee started the search for wedding venues for their July wedding, the unique setting of Blue Barn Berry Farm instantly jumped out as the perfect setting, and we were excited to provide their soundtrack!
Located just south of Syracuse in Kosciusko County, Blue Barn Berry Farm is a working blueberry and blackberry farm in a private country location that offers a relaxed atmosphere for both country vintage taste or sophisticated shabby chic styles. Their brand new indoor-outdoor event pavilion can accommodate over 200 guests overlooking the berry farm, and the beautiful outdoor ceremony location offers scenic lakeside views. It was our first time here, and needless to say, we were impressed!
Chance and Aimee are both teachers in the Northridge school district and wanted to create a unique experience for their 150 guests with several individual touches. including incorporating Chance’s love of Harry Potter into the event programs. They chose DJ Iceberg with our ceremony package and Gold wedding package to bring these visions to life.
As you can see in the photo below, Chance’s love of all things Harry Potter was woven through the entire event from the ceremony to the reception timeline. The beautiful ceremony had an eclectic selection of music and was officiated by Father Avery Lehman, a close friend of the couple who did a fantastic job. Afterwards guest made their way to the air-conditioned event pavilion for toasting and a tasty dinner courtesy of a local taco truck. Local Goshen photographer and former education co-worker Kelli Rasler captured all the moments.
After dinner Iceberg emceed a spirited “Shoe Game” in which Chance and Aimee answered questions about each other while guests got in on the fun as well, standing up at their seats if they believed the question pertained to Chance or sitting down if it was for Aimee. Everyone loved the interactive participation, which especially appealed to the teacher side these educators. Following the shoe game, the fun continued with a “Dollar Dash” to see whether the bride or groom could collect more money to the delight of the guests.
Later in the night everyone enjoyed dancing to a fun mix of party hits and country music as well as time outside by the fire pit enjoying the warm July evening. The sounds of Semisonic’s “Closing Time” meant the end of a perfect evening, but just the beginning of the rest of this happy couple’s lives together!
