It doesn’t get much sweeter than a gorgeous summer day in quaint downtown Goshen, and a wedding celebration in the third floor Spohn Ballroom overlooking the courthouse square. That’s exactly what took place for Elizabeth and Brandon in early June and our Goshen wedding DJ, DJ Iceberg, was thrilled to be a part of it!
Elizabeth planned to have both the ceremony and reception in the same space in the ballroom, with chairs for guests at the ceremony to be moved during dinner and that space then becoming the dance floor. The couple utilized our Gold Wedding Package to the fullest extent by utilizing the one sound system setup to take care of both PA for the ceremony and music for cocktails, dinner, and of course dancing later in the evening. Elizabeth’s sister actually provided the soundtrack for the wedding ceremony with her expert harp-playing ability, while we made sure the pastor was mic’d and all the guests could clearly hear his words.
A tasty buffet from the Spohn Ballroom’s resident caterers, Elegance in Thyme followed cocktails set to a Rat-Pack soundtrack of classic crooners. After dinner there were lovely toasts and touching parent dances, including a special surprise tribute speech by Elizabeth’s stepdad in lieu of a 2nd father-daughter dance. Later the dance floor filled up and guests even had some fun with our signature “Newlywed Game” testing Elizabeth and Brandon’s knowledge of each other habits. Guests laughed till the cried as the couple raised shoes to indicate their answers. Their Elkhart Wedding DJ then followed with more dancing to a mix of classic hits and new country ballads the rest of the evening.
