Bride to be Eva started planning her small town Indiana wedding reception nearly a year in advance, which is great idea when it comes to summer dates. She chose to have our Gold wedding package in downtown Goshen’s historic Spohn Ballroom. Main Street in Goshen is always picture perfect no matter the season, but July is beautiful with all the shops, cafes, and activities in full swing, and Spohn has an incredible corner view from the 3rd floor ballroom which overlooks the historic Elkhart County Courthouse square and the view extends all the way down the small town mainstreet.
The late afternoon sunlight was streaming in all the large windows in the ballroom as guests arrived and their Goshen wedding DJ set the mood for cocktail hour with light contemporary favorites from artists like Train, Bruno Mars, Caro Emerald, and Jason Mraz. After announcing an exciting Grand Entrance and facilitating toasting and the blessing, DJ Iceberg soothed the guests with crooner selections in the Vegas style of the Rat Pack before the first dance began.
Dave, the groom is an active duty member of the United States Army and several of his groomsman are as well. They looked very dapper in their full dress military uniforms, which were showcased during the Mother-Son dance where Dave and his mom did a line dance routine to “Copperhead Road” with the rest of the bridal party joining in and then all the guests joining as well for the second half of the song. Their unique moves to this classic song were a huge hit! Later in the evening Dave and his brother also treated guest to a “dance off” to a song from the Scissor Sisters, and DJ Iceberg impressed them with a special remix of the song which worked perfectly for their friendly competition. Definitely a unique reception and one that Eva and Dave’s guests are sure to remember for years to come!
