Lots of brides dream of winter weddings, with dark colors, winter florals, and snow-filled photos. When Jess and her mom met us at Bread & Chocolate’s 2018 Bridal Open House nearly a year ago, a snowy winter wedding was just what they had in mind. Bread & Chocolate’s setting at the Old Bag Factory in Goshen is full of vintage industrial charm in really any season, but winter weddings with a fresh cover of snow can be especially photogenic.
Sometimes though, Mother Nature can throw a curveball, and for Jess and Jake’s January 5 wedding and reception, it ended up being a beautiful 50-degree spring-like day. Do you think that was going to put a lid on the celebration though? No way! In fact, this wedding started out our 2019 wedding season in the best way possible, with a beautiful ceremony, great music, tons of energy, and total dancefloor participation – exactly the result Jess and Jake were looking for!
The afternoon began with a touching 45-minute ceremony in the Gallery with lots of special touches including words of wisdom and scripture from all the grandparents, communion, and even a beautiful acoustic vocal performance with guitar from two of the couple’s college friends from Taylor University. The 175 guests then made their way down the hall for cocktails and appetizers followed by a fun grand entrance with all 17 members of the bridal party filling the ballroom with energy. Both sets of parents gave warm speeches of welcome and gratitude before the delicious buffet was served and more hilarious speeches from the Best Man and Maids of Honor. While guests enjoyed their cake and selections from the dessert bar, Jess and Jake entertained them with a fun edition of the Newlywed (Shoe) game, and then wowed with special dances including a group father-daughter dance and Anniversary Dance.
Later in the evening, guests packed the dancefloor till the end with great spirits and with them having some much fun, nearly everyone was still in the room for the grand exit send off as Jess and Jake ran through a tunnel of their friends and family to end a perfect night of celebration. This wedding definitely sets the bar high for the rest of our events this year, and we can’t wait to jump in with the rest of our 2019 couples! Cheers to the New Year!

I highly recommend The Music Place! Blake did an excellent job with the sound and music for our daughters ceremony and being the DJ for the reception!
