Let’s see…you’re looking for a historic, rustic venue for your wedding reception in Southwest Michigan, you dig the craft beer and handcrafted spirits scene, and you or your fiancé loves a premium small-batch whiskey or bourbon. We’ve got the perfect solution: The Journeyman Distillery in Three Oaks Michigan.
We did our first event at Journeyman a few years ago for a couple from Chicago right after the Distillery had opened, so it was awesome to be back and see the multitude of improvements the owners have made to the property. Kathy and Jack’s reception was an intimate affair with under 100 guests, so they chose the very quaint “Still Room” on the lower level which features a window into the distilling equipment, an enormous bar that runs the length of the room, and a gorgeous vintage wooden family-style dining table that’s nearly as long as the bar!
Kathy chose DJ Sticky Boots as she and Jack’s reception DJ and emcee and guest enjoyed an eclectic cocktail mix of music based on the newlywed’s favorite artists before a fun grand entrance and touching welcome speech from the bride’s father, Slawek. Dinner was delicious, and following the cake cutting, we skipped the traditional typical reception traditions like the tosses and line dances and got right to the party, with the tight-knit group of guests danced the night away to a fun blend of open-format hits and sing-alongs. This reception was proof positive you don’t need a large guestlist to have a killer party!

Blake is amazing! Look no further. He was so organized when it came to booking, payment, and our pre-wedding consultation. All our guests had a great time at the reception, and we could not be happier!
