FRIDAY WEDDING IN GOSHEN FOR CAITLIN & BEN | DJ, CEREMONY

Have you ever considered a day besides Saturday for a wedding?  Although the vast majority of weddings we do occur on Saturdays, we love when couples think outside of the box a bit to consider a Friday.   Venues and other vendors often offer discounts on non-Saturday events, hotels are less busy, and if you have a lot of guests visiting from out of town, they are taking the day (or week) off work anyway, which can make a Friday even more appealing!

This was certainly the case for Warsaw couple, Caitlin and Ben, who had guests coming in from all over the country and even overseas.  Ben actually had lived in 5 different states and in South America prior to moving to Warsaw for work and meeting Caitlin which led to a diverse group of friends.   This couple also wanted to dispense with a lot of the typical wedding-day traditions, including the Grand Entrance, cake cutting and tosses.  They even had no formal bridal party but instead chose to sit at a “head table” made up of just their close friends from various parts of the country.  All of these elements made them a perfect candidate for a Friday celebration.

After choosing DJ Sticky Boots and our Platinum wedding package at Bread & Chocolate in the Old Bag Factory in Goshen, Caitlin rounded out her dream team of vendors by hiring Krissy Campbell of Simply Be So Events to help her with all the planning.   Krissy brought in her crack team of pros for everything from flowers to invitations and developed a design pallet to make the evening truly special.

We also handled sound and coordination for the short ceremony in the Gallery at Bread & Chocolate, after which guests made their way to the Ballroom Suite for cocktails, a delicious buffet dinner, and dancing later in the evening.  What started out as a low-key evening, ended with a full dance floor and most guests staying to the very end.  They were even treated to a few special dance performances from Ben’s nieces before the dancing closed.   A Friday reception doesn’t have to be short, boring, or poorly attended, and Caitlin and Ben proved this fact in splendid fashion!
