South Bend couple Heather and Christine were engaged back in early 2019 and knew right away they wanted something special for their upcoming 2020 wedding. The ceremony and reception would be outside; and with a guest list of under 100 people, they knew they wanted an intimate setting that felt comfortable and welcoming, something more like a backyard than an over-the-top lake front property or giant estate. Enter Tying the Knot Weddings and Events in Niles as the perfect solution!
Diana and Frank at Tying the Knot offer a cozy property with wedding chapel, outdoor ceremony site with a white gazebo and forested background, and tented reception area, along with a rustic and picturesque outdoor dance floor with beautiful string-lighting. This was our first time performing at Tying the Knot, and Diana and Frank could not have been more warm and accommodating!
After taking a close look at our WeddingWire reviews, Heather and Christine chose to go with our Gold wedding package with DJ Iceberg, who was a perfect fit for not only their style, but their location as Iceberg actually lives in Niles. We worked closely with this same-sex couple for the entire 18-month planning process, guiding them along through every aspect of their event, answering questions, and of course reassuring them as we all navigated the ongoing COVID crisis.
When it came to the big day, it was easy to feel at ease, knowing that everything would be ready to go. And even though it ended up being a rainy evening, we were still able to beat the raindrops in time to have the ceremony outside as planned and allow Heather and Christine could take their horse-drawn carriage ride immediately following the ceremony that they had been looking so forward to.
After a taco bar dinner in the tent catered by the executive chef and Heather’s employer, guests relaxed and danced the rest of the evening away, celebrating love and life with the happy couple as Iceberg kept the music on-point with an eclectic mix of the two brides’ favorite songs and artists. There were even late-night pretzel bites from Ben’s Soft Pretzels and a coffee cart from the Electric Brew in Goshen, which was a really nice touch for the small group of close friends and family.
We feel strongly that ALL love is welcome with our couples, and Heather and Christine’s love is overflowing. We were so happy to be a part of their incredibly special day!

My wife Christine and i hired The Music Place DJ for our wedding and reception and we could not have been happier with our decision!!! We did our research and read lots of reviews and very quickly realized that The Music Place was exactly who we wanted and the kind of entertainment we were looking for! Blake, the owner was phenomenal during the planning process!! He welcomed Christine and I with open arms and an open heart from the get go, even adapting forms to accommodate two brides!! Blake was so professional, friendly, and so very helpful!! He was always very quick to answer our emails and questions, and we had lots of questions, lol!! Blake helped us navigate everything even amongst Covid. We met through Zoom calls with him and Jeff and he always had an answer and always put our minds at ease. He constantly reassured us that everything was going to be ok and the music for our wedding was everything we wanted!! Our DJ was Jeff (aka DJ Iceburg) and he was amazing!! He played all the songs we wanted and even though it was raining heavily during our reception he kept our makeshift dancefloor(under the all weather tent) packed!! Our guests were up dancing and having tons of fun, and that's exactly what we wanted!! The music throughout the evening was on point!! Lots of upbeat songs and songs from all eras and genre's!!! It was the perfect mix of Christine and myself!!! We can't thank the Music Place enough for making our wedding and reception so memorable and so much fun!! We would recommend them a hundred times over!! For any future couples..hire The Music Place as your DJ!! You will absolutely not be disappointed!!!
