The shore of Lake Michigan at Silver Beach was the setting for our first prom of the spring season where over 350 gathered at the gorgeous Shadowland Ballroom for an evening of carousel rides, outer-space snacks and drinks, and of course dancing…lots and lots of dancing. In fact the southwest Michigan prom DJ, Sticky Boots, had the dancefloor packed from start to finish!
Upon arrival, students entered through the Shadowland’s front outdoor canopy which we lit with wireless LED uplights in bright green, red, yellow, pink, blue, and purple, providing an otherworldly effect before entering the building. Once in the ballroom, we placed 20 more computer-controlled uplight fixtures which pulsed throughout the evening to the beat of the prom music with an intense glow, bathing the walls in a mix of bright color.
The Interstellar prom theme was also a perfect match for our “Starry Night” starfield effect which projected a glowing cobalt blue cloud nebula onto the vaulted ceiling of the St. Joe prom venue pierced by thousands of tiny stars. Check out the pics below to see how this special effect added a signature look to the event.
Prom royalty was crowned at 10:00pm with DJ Sticky Boots providing the Michigan prom emcee duties and members of the junior and senior classes celebrated the crowning of both a prince and princess and king and queen.
