Shelby and Chris kicked off our 2015 wedding season in spectacular style with their wedding celebration utilizing DJ Sticky Boots and our Platinum reception package at the Matterhorn Conference Center in Elkhart, Indiana. The Matterhorn is a large event space, and the powerful sound system with the Platinum Package was an ideal choice to make sure every one of guests heard crystal clear announcements from the Elkhart wedding DJ and emcee.
The couple’s event color palette was lavender and light green, so Shelby also chose to utilize our Splash uplighting package to add plum accents to the Elkhart wedding venue. We placed the purple uplights in a unique way by highlighting one wall of the banquet room with a special focus on the sweetheart table, and then placed the rest of the fixtures at the opposite end of the room around the dancefloor. The resulting purple glow was stunning and made for focal points at both sides of the reception no matter which end of the room the action was taking place.
Following the grand entrance, toasts, and a buffet dinner from world-famous Matterhorn Catering, guests were treated to a custom cookie bar for desert. The dancefloor was opened with the newlywed’s first dance, and then guests enjoyed an usually fun father-daughter dance. Shelby’s nightclub-style DJ produced a custom dance mix for her and her father which started with a traditional sentimental slow dance and then broke into “Bust a Move”, much to her father’s surprise…and the guests delight! Custom touches like this are a hallmark of DJ Sticky Boots packages and are included to help clients achieve any creative vision they have.
The rest of the evening was filled with total dancefloor participation. Shelby is a huge 80’s music fan, and her Indiana wedding DJ delivered with a high-energy mix of 80’s hits, sing along standards, and today’s best music as well.
In addition to March 14, 2015 being their wedding day, Shelby and Chris were also aware that 3-14 is known as “Pi Day” which celebrates the irrational number “pi” utilized in geometry. This year’s Pi Day was even more special due to the date being “3.14.15”, which continues pi to two more decimal places, (an occurrence which only happens once every hundred years). In honor of all things Pi, our wedding couple chose to cut a very unique wedding cake as you can see from the picture above highlighted by our lavender uplighting. This super-cool touch is just another reason why we LOVE our amazing clients and the creative ideas they bring to their celebrations!
