Lindsey and Ben held their downtown South Bend wedding reception in a venue that oozes classic elegance and opulence, The gorgeous Palais Royale. With the size and scale of the reception, the obvious choice for entertainment was DJ Sticky Boots and his namesake Platinum wedding package, although the couple chose to customize the options somewhat and elected to not utilize any of the extensive lighting effects that come along with this package, relying instead on the ambiance of the historic room itself.
Guests enjoyed cocktails with a string quartet in the lobby of the adjacent Morris Performing Arts Center first before moving into the Palais Royale for dinner and dancing. Once guests were seated, Lindsey and Ben were introduced by their South Bend DJ from the amazing balcony overlooking all their guests seated for dinner below. The balcony presentation makes for one of the most dramatic grand entrances in Michiana, and this evening was no different.
After a fantastic plated dinner served with impeccable presentation by the Palais staff to a Rat-Pack music playlist, it was time for the special dances. The Sticky Boots Platinum package includes unlimited custom music editing in Sticky’s full radio production studio. Lindsey wanted shorter versions of the songs for her first dance as well as for her father-daughter dance and Ben’s mother-son dance. They also had planned a unique bridal party dance routine to “Call Me Maybe” which required a special remix and edit of the song. The custom versions worked perfectly by distilling the magic of the songs into 2 minute, easy-to-watch dances, which are welcomed by both the guests and participants. In fact, custom produced dance edits are one of our most requested features for modern weddings.
The bridal party dance was a huge success and worked in perfect sync with the custom edit. Guests were wowed as the bridal party danced, sang, and even leap-frogged over each other. Check out some of Katie-Whitcomb’s incredible photography for just a taste of the craziness.
After a wonderful anniversary dance and bouquet and garter tosses, the mostly younger crowd danced all night to a great mix of classics and current hits from their St. Joe county wedding DJ and even enjoyed a late night treat of burgers and milkshakes to balance the open bar and stave off the munchies. When it was time to call it a night, Sticky Boots dispatched the guests to the Palais Royale lobby for a grand exit in a sea of floating bubbles.
